Linear
Linear is a project and issue tracking tool built for software teams.
If you’re working on Frontend Mentor challenges or other development projects, Linear can help you organize tasks, bugs, ideas, and project progress. For individual use, the free plan is usually enough, but learning tools like Linear can still help you become familiar with team workflows used in software development.
Linear’s Education Program is mainly intended for student-led programs, clubs, and other educational activities. Eligible full-time students can receive free access to the Basic or Business plan for one year.
How to Apply
Check Linear’s current Education Program instructions before applying.
Linear currently asks students to email support@linear.app from a .edu address and include:
- the name of the Linear workspace
- the email address associated with the application
- proof of full-time enrollment or other requested eligibility information
Student IDs are not accepted as proof of enrollment.

Things to Know
Who the Education Program Is For
If you’re working alone on Frontend Mentor challenges or personal projects, the free plan will usually be enough. The Education Program becomes more useful when you’re working with a student team or want access to the additional features of Linear’s paid plans.
High schools, for-profit institutions, and online-only educational institutions are not eligible.
Check Permitted Use
The Education Program is intended for educational use and is not available for business or commercial work.
If your project becomes commercial, review Linear’s standard plans and terms.
Access Is Time-Limited
Education access lasts one year.
Check the current Education Program terms if you want to continue using a paid plan after that period.
What You Get
Eligible full-time students can receive free access to Linear’s Basic or Business plan for one year, provided as a 100% discount.
Basic
The Basic plan expands on the free plan with additional capacity and features for teams managing more projects and work.
Business
The Business plan adds more advanced collaboration, workflow, and team-management features for larger or more complex student groups.
